Chang: Turning Heads on TikTok
Chang wanted to build awareness and engagement among Cambodia's growing TikTok community. Instead of product-first messaging, Ruder Finn Era collaborated with KOLs to integrate the beer into their passions and everyday lifestyles. Twelve pieces of content generated 1.5M video views and 105K engagements, turning TikTok engagement into cultural relevance and sales growth.
The challenge
Cambodia's TikTok community was growing fast, and with it a younger audience that beer brands had not yet reached through traditional channels. Chang wanted to boost awareness and engagement with that audience, support market expansion and build visibility online.
Younger TikTok users are quick to scroll past anything that looks like an advert, so the brand needed content that resonated as lifestyle rather than as product promotion.
Our solution
Ruder Finn Era's strategic choice was to let creators lead. Instead of pushing product-first messaging, the team collaborated with KOLs to integrate Chang into their passions and everyday lifestyles, from food and music to time with friends.
Using Chang as a creative tool for authentic storytelling rather than the subject of it fostered genuine connections with audiences. The twelve pieces of content felt native to the platform, and the engagement they generated translated into cultural relevance for the brand and tangible sales growth.
