Garnier Color Naturals: A Gen Z Refresh for Cambodia
Garnier wanted to reintroduce Color Naturals in Cambodia with an expanded range of trendy shades and a new sourcing story aimed at Gen Z. Ruder Finn Era produced a localised photoshoot with four young Cambodian talents, each assigned specific shades and shot for easy post-production colour changes, giving the brand versatile visuals for future content.
The challenge
Garnier Color Naturals is an established hair colour range in Cambodia, but its imagery no longer matched the fun, expressive way Gen Z consumers approach hair colour. The brand was expanding its shade range and repositioning the product as directly sourced from India rather than Thailand, and needed visuals that expressed variety, freshness and modern appeal.
The reintroduction had to make hair colour feel easy, accessible and stylish to a younger audience, and give the local team assets it could keep adapting.
Our solution
Ruder Finn Era strategically selected four local talents whose Gen Z looks, styles and bubbly energy would connect with young consumers and drive desirability across the Color Naturals franchise.
Each talent was assigned specific Garnier hair dye shades, and the shoot was planned so colours could be transformed easily in post-production. That technical choice turned one production day into a flexible library, allowing future content variations and diverse visual storytelling without reshooting, and giving the brand's new positioning a consistent look across every shade in the range.
The results
The campaign positioned Garnier Color Naturals as a fun, trendy and expressive hair colour range for Gen Z consumers and gave the brand strong visual versatility for ongoing content.
