Royal Club: Stay Safe with RC
During the COVID-19 period Royal Club Beverages wanted to give something back to Myanmar consumers rather than sell to them. Ruder Finn Era created Stay Safe with RC, a campaign encouraging people to stay home and wash their hands, built around a TikTok participation mechanic. It reached 3.9 million viewers, drew 48.7k TikTok participants and 78k shares.
The challenge
As COVID-19 spread in Myanmar, brands faced a choice between going quiet and finding a useful role. Royal Club Beverages wanted to give something back to the consumers who had built the brand, at a moment when promotional messaging would have felt tone deaf. The company needed a campaign that carried genuine public health value, awareness of the situation, staying at home and frequent hand washing, while keeping the brand present and liked.
Our solution
Ruder Finn Era created Stay Safe with RC, framing the brand as a companion in a difficult period rather than a product on a shelf. The public health message was kept simple and repeatable: stay home and wash your hands as much as possible.
To turn a message into behaviour, the campaign used TikTok participation, inviting people to make and share their own versions and giving a serious message a light, sociable form that young audiences would pass on. Shares carried the campaign well beyond the brand's own following.
