Yatra Trauma Centre: Immersing Media in a New Perspective on Trauma Therapy
Trauma remains a complex, often taboo topic in Thailand, difficult to communicate through traditional media outreach. To build awareness and credibility for Yatra Trauma Centre in Krabi, Ruder Finn Era hosted an immersive three-day media fam trip. Journalists experienced its holistic approach to trauma recovery, from EMDR sessions and creative workshops to ice baths, alongside access to founders and specialists.
The challenge
As a specialized trauma therapy centre in Krabi, Yatra Trauma Centre needed to build awareness and credibility around its trauma-informed and holistic approach to therapy. With trauma and mental wellbeing often complex and taboo topics to communicate through traditional Thai media outreach alone, the challenge was to help journalists understand Yatra’s philosophy, expertise and treatment experience in an authentic and accessible way.
Our solution
RFE designed and hosted an immersive three-day media familiarisation trip at Yatra Trauma Centre in Krabi, bringing together targeted media representatives to experience the centre's healing approach firsthand. The programme combined founder briefings, expert interviews, therapeutic experiences, and wellness activities to provide a deeper understanding of trauma recovery and emotional wellbeing.
Rather than relying solely on presentations, media were given direct access to Yatra's founders and specialists, alongside hands-on experiences including EMDR therapy sessions, grounding exercises, pottery workshops, ice baths, and others holistic healing programme. This gave media a deeper understanding of Yatra’s multidisciplinary approach while creating opportunities for authentic storytelling and longer-term media relationships.
