Qualcomm and GreenIO: AI for Cleaner Air in Thailand
Qualcomm Wireless Reach and GreenIO brought an AI smart edge air pollution detection programme to Thailand. Ruder Finn Era ran a tier one media group interview and a stakeholder conference presided over by the Bangkok Governor, reaching 49 million people with fully positive coverage.
The challenge
Air pollution is one of Bangkok's most pressing public concerns. Qualcomm Wireless Reach, with local partner GreenIO, had a programme using AI at the network edge to detect and map pollution, and needed Thai policymakers, the technology ecosystem and the public to understand it as public health impact rather than a product announcement.
Our solution
Ruder Finn Era opened with a media group interview for five tier one outlets in September 2025, framing the programme around health outcomes for the city. In January 2026 the team staged a stakeholder conference and media event presided over by the Bangkok Governor, with a panel of AIoT ecosystem leaders, turning the programme into a public conversation about how the city could use the data.
